7 Tips To Bring Truck Loads of Traffic to Your Website

You've just created your own website on Wix. Well done! Now the fun starts. Time to get some traffic flowing to your site. But how the hell do you do that without paying for advertising? Here are seven tips I have used to bring insane traffic to my website, resulting in great sales and huge revenues.

Creating your own website is an awesome place to start building your brand

1. SEO

What exactly is SEO? Search Engine Optimization involves designing your website to be highly sought after in Google (and other) search results. The higher your SEO ranking, the more traffic you will drive to your website. To do this, you can employ a few techniques:

  • Keyword Research: Find out exactly what people in your target audience are searching for, and add these words to your website. Google Keyword Planner is ideal for this

  • On-Page SEO: Once you have found the keywords that your audience is searching for, add these to your page. Ensure meta titles, descriptions, headers, and image alt texts are all optimized. [side quest: what are meta titles? It's the title that appears in the browser tab to describe your page]

  • Content Creation: Create regular content for your target audience that addresses their questions and needs. Blog posts, how-to guides, and industry news can attract visitors. Just make sure your content is original and reflects your brand, no body likes chatGPT copy and paste articles

2. Content Marketing

Literally this can be anything you post on your website or create for another site to post with a link back to your platform (backlinking). The three most common types of content marketing are:

  • Blogging: Write blog posts that answer common questions in your industry. Share insights, tips, and updates.

  • Guest Blogging: Write articles for other reputable websites in your industry with a link back to your site.

  • Infographics and Videos: Create visual content that can be shared on social media and other platforms. [btw my favourite example of this is Shock Mansion with their Random Radness gallery page, updated regularly with cool pics (https://www.shockmansion.com/category/random-radness-gallery/)

3. Social Media Marketing

Share your stuff on your socials. I'll be sharing this blog on my Facebook page. You might also find out where your target audience hangs out and hit them up through there, such as in groups or with competitors pages' posts. You do have the option of paying Zuck to send your posts and products out to a larger audience, but engage paid ads at your own peril... It can be an easy way to lose some serious cash.

4. Email Marketing

You can build an email list by setting up an offer on your website! For example you could create a free e-book, newsletter or a discount to encourage subscribers. Send out regular updates to keep your audience engaged.

5. Backlinks

You can build traffic to your website by reaching out to other websites and blogs to build backlinks to your site. Backlinks help to improve your websites ranking on Google.

6. Engage with Online Communities and Forums

Join industry-related forums and communities like Reddit, Quora, or specialized forums. Provide valuable insights and link back to your website where relevant.

7. Monitor Your Analytics and Adjust

Track your traffic sources and identify which ones are most effective using tools like Google Analytics. This can help you to narrow down your search to find the best performing sources. Continuously adjust and tweak your strategies to suit this data.

Unfortunately there is no one stop technique to building traffic to your website. You are just going to have to slog it out and see what works. The tips shared above can definitely help to get you started! Thanks for reading! Don't forget to check out my store on your way out for some great deals.

Namaste.
